Fourier Transform Spectroscopy at USNO

The Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) is a new instrument being developed for precice radial velocity studies using Doppler spectroscopy. Originally conceived in support of the effort to obtain stable grid stars for the SIM project, the primary function of the FTS at USNO is to help identify binary companions (both stellar and planetary) to stars.
